Our breath is the very thing that helps us to connect back in with our body and our self, and we are not doing it as much as we need to. ⠀
As times get chaotic, stress increases and your fears set in we forget to breathe. ⠀
Have you ever caught yourself “forgetting” to breathe or holding your breath?⠀
Sighhhhh.
The breath allows us to connect the mind and body together and calm the body/nervous system down.
Breathe.⠀
We so often are stuck within the mind and the body is running on autopilot- taking us out of the present.
The breath allows us to come back to the present moment. ⠀
Most are only using about 10% of the lung capacity which means breathing is very shallow and restricted thus putting the body into a fight or flight response for protection. ⠀
It is in the breath that we are reminded to allow life to flow through us, to circulate, to release and to let new flow in. ⠀
When we are in fear we are constricted, resistant and tense so is our breath and that then shows up in our life as we do not allow anything in. ⠀
In the deep breath we allow ourselves to connect in with the great Omni presence and create life as it flows through us and we receive as we release the old. ⠀
In these times we may notice that we are outside of our bodies most the time- allow yourself to connect back in with the breath. ⠀
The lungs represent metal, masculine and teach us about duality. ⠀
To breathe in means to expand and receive- when we refuse to breathe deeply/constrict the airflow we get to ask ourselves where are we refusing to allow new life in? What do we not want to take that which is good for us? ⠀
We hold a lot of our emotions in our chest often and when we hold the energy here we constrict the lungs… this is where we get to clear our hearts and the emotions we are holding onto. ⠀
