As Summer approaches and we start to change seasons our body asks us for a different approach to our diet, work out routine and overall health.
When the seasons change we can create imbalances in the body if we still are trying to do what we did in the previous season, which was Spring ruled by air.
We now enter into Summer ruled by fire which can create digestion issues, overheating, inflammation, dryness, bloating, laziness, excess mucus and more.
When the season changes we will feel the need to get rid of excess old weight from the previous season- that means mind and body!
Depending on your Dosha (Ayurveda) will determine where you need to focus for the changing of season.
Vata: Get some sunshine and bring in more grounding foods like chickpeas, lentils and root vegetables. Bring in more massages, meditation and yin yoga to ease the nervous system as it could get overactive during this time.
Pitta: Keep cool as you can tend to overheat in hot weather causing inflammation, headaches, rashes, digestion issues. Bring in cilantro, Aloe Vera, more greens and water to keep the body clear and clean. Bring in some morning or evening walks and some time and the pool or beach to stay cool and grounded.
Kapha: You do well during Summer as this is your time of balance. Bring in more cherries and more astringent foods to bring grounding to your body. Bring in some Vinyasa yoga, bike rides or sleep into your daily routine to keep you well rounded.
Now is the time to switch over your diet and work out routine to get your body adjusted and ready before Summer fully comes.
Some seasonal foods for Summer you can increase are cucumber, avocado, bell peppers, kale, watercress, cherries, melon, papaya and soursop.
Add in some morning time with the Sun to download new energetic codes and messages that the Sun has for you. 🌞
